Homefront Speech Therapy is a locally-owned, private speech therapy practice serving families in Upper and Lower Macungie Townships in Pennsylvania. We offer concierge speech therapy services to local children in-home or in the community. We also provide teletherapy to children anywhere within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania via our HIPAA-compliant online platform.
Our mission is to provide an active support system for your family so your child has the maximum potential to be successful. This collaborative approach includes ongoing communication and support with parents and caregivers dedicated to the continuity of beneficial strategies and carryover activities to empower your child to become a confident communicator at home, at school, and in the community.

At Homefront Speech Therapy, we are dedicated to involving your family throughout the therapy process and forming a cohesive team to produce the best possible outcomes. Our approach is family-centered and play-based to meet the individualized needs of your child.
We work on critical communication and interaction skills within a mixture of play and structured activities to ensure your child is having fun and actively learning at the same time. We specialize in treating children ages 3 through Elementary school to help ensure these important years of exploration, interaction, and growth are met with support, encouragement, and fun!

Cristina Lacertosa, M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner, Speech-Language Pathologist
After working for several years as a special educator, Cristina noticed the degree to which communication barriers impacted her students. She felt the need to learn the proper tools necessary to help this population, who often cannot communicate their own wants and needs. This calling led her to go back to school at night while being a stay-at-home mom to her own children. While she treats children in a speech and language capacity, she is able to blend her collective experience as an educator, speech therapist, and parent to and see each child through various lenses. Cristina feels that creating a good rapport with families and maintaining an open line of communication is vitally important to the success of each student and at the heart of our mission to support families on the homefront.
Cristina established her private practice to better serve families in her community in need of speech and language services. She earned her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University and is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania while maintaining her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) with the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
Cristina also earned her Bachelor’s degree in education and is dual-certified in both Elementary Education K-6 and Special Education PreK-12 from Kutztown University. Cristina also keeps her teaching certifications active in Pennsylvania.

Let’s get started!
Step One
Call or email us for a free 15-minute consultation. You will speak directly to Cristina, speech therapist and owner, who will listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and provide guidance on the next steps for your child. We will also discuss availability for in-person speech therapy or teletherapy depending on scheduling and location.
Step Two
Schedule an evaluation to provide an updated picture of your child’s overall communication abilities. This will include a parent interview, observations, a language sample, and standardized testing. Once complete, we will review the results together and develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs.
Step Three
Lastly, we will establish a plan of action to schedule weekly therapy sessions that work with your family’s schedule. Therapy sessions begin! Your child will begin working on their unique communication targets. We continuously track your child’s progress and adjust target goals as needed to encourage maximum growth and success.
Insurance & Billing
Homefront Speech Therapy is dedicated to providing custom-tailored therapy to your child to meet his or her specific needs. At this time, we are an out-of-network provider accepting private pay clients. Private pay services allow us the freedom to make decisions about your child’s individual needs without limitations on the type or frequency of therapy sessions often placed by insurance companies.
Although we do not directly bill insurance companies, we will provide you a detailed superbill if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance company. We also do not require a doctor's referral for an evaluation or services.
